Request for Qualifications: Design Services, Architecture & Engineering
This RFQ process for NC Children’s design services has closed. Thank you to all firms who submitted proposals. Firms invited to the next phase will be notified directly.”
The North Carolina Children’s Campus represents a bold step forward in delivering exceptional pediatric care, grounded in the mission to “create a world-class children’s health system dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in North Carolina and beyond.”
This visionary campus will bring together state-of-the-art facilities, thoughtfully designed to provide comprehensive, family-centered care and support.
Key components of the campus will include:
- A 500-bed, roughly 1.6 million square foot, pediatric hospital with an integrated central utility plant to support around-the-clock care and operations.
- A 70-bed 200,000 square foot, pediatric inpatient behavioral health hospital, also offering robust outpatient mental health services to meet the growing needs of children and adolescents.
- A 350,000 square foot comprehensive medical office building, featuring an ambulatory surgery center, outpatient clinics, and specialty care services in a single, accessible location.
- An administrative office building around 200,000 square feet to support essential non-clinical operations, education, and collaboration among care teams.
Structured parking facilities for patients, families, and staff will also be developed as a vital part of the overall campus infrastructure. Parking consultants will be selected through a separate RFQ process.
Together, these facilities will form an integrated, healing environment where clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate care converge—serving children and families across North Carolina and beyond.
